Privacy and GDPR
The PID-Wijzer website (www.pidwijzer.nl) is managed by the KB - National Library of the Netherlands (hereinafter: ‘’ KB ’’). KB is therefore the controller for processing personal data on or via the website. The address of the KB is Prins Willem-Alexanderhof 5, 2595 BE The Hague. The Chamber of Commerce number is 27377634.
Processed personal data and purposes of the processing
To measure the use of www.pidwijzer.nl, we utilize the analytics software Matomo. We use this software to analyse how often the website is visited, wat the origin is of the website visitors and how we can improve our website. We limit the traceability of our website visitors to a minimum (IP address). The information is analysed but not stored.
If you left your email address after completing the questionnaire, the KB will only process this personal data with the aim of keeping you informed of the NDE toolkit about Persistent Identifiers. Your email address will be kept until you indicate that you no longer want to be kept informed. You can do this by using the link mentioned at the bottom of the newsletter.
Legal basis and parts of data
The legal basis from the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on which the KB relies when processing your e-mail address is ‘permission'. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time via the link at the bottom of the newsletter. In addition, the KB relies on the basis of the fulfillment of a task of general interest for the substantive management of the website.
Your personal data is only visible to employees of the KB or the supplier of the KB who are involved in www.pidwijzer.nl from their position or role. We require all our suppliers to take appropriate security measures regarding your data and act according to our instructions. We do not share your data with other third parties.
Security and retention period
The KB ensures that your personal data is adequately secured, so that your data is protected against unauthorized use, unauthorized access, modification and unlawful destruction.
Your email address will be kept as long as you use our services and until you indicate that you no longer want to be kept informed.
Rights
You can exercise certain rights with regard to your personal data on the basis of the GDPR. This gives you the right to inspect, rectify and delete personal data.
